Last week we went on a trip to San Diego! We got up bright and early Tuesday morning to head to the airport. The airport was what I was most worried about with two girls, a stroller, luggage, and two car seats! But we survived! The girls did really good on the airplane. We watched "Awesome" (the Lego Movie) which kept the girls occupied most of the plane ride. Both girls loved the window and kept fighting for my lap to look outside.
Once we got to San Diego we headed to the beach! We first drove to La Jolla cove, where there were tons of sea lions! They were all over the beach, just sun bathing!
La Jolla wasn't a good beach to play at, so we drove the another beach to play. Audrey loved playing in the waves, and Mollie loved playing on the beach. Since it's April, there was hardly anyone at the beach, and we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves, minus the chipmunks. There were tons of chipmunks that came to enjoy our lunch.
We spent the next two days at Sea World. It was really nice because there were hardly any crowds and we were able to enjoy everything. The girls really loved all the fishies!
The girls weren't really interested in any of the shows, they lasted for about ten minutes and then we'd have to leave, dropping our popcorn on the lady sitting in front of us... whoops!
Audrey's favorite part of Sea World was the Sesame Street playground. She would always find it on the map and tell us to go to Elmo!
The first day after we left Sea World we were just driving around, trying to find cool sights and let the girls nap in their car seats. We were completely stuck in crazy California traffic when Tyler got a text from my phone that said "I just found this phone in the sand box at Sea World" Oh no!! Apparently I'd dropped my phone without even realizing it, yikes! We text right back and asked her if she would take it to the lost and found! Thank goodness some kind soul found my phone, and was nice enough to text Tyler. It took us a while to get back to Sea World because we were driving in the opposite direction with rush hour traffic! Oi!
The next day we walked around Balboa Park, and saw all of the gardens they have. They have a lot of museums there, but we decided not to do any because we didn't think the girls would last long.
The last day we went to Old Town, and walked around. They have a Wells Fargo Museum that of course we had to go to! Audrey was pretty grumpy at this point!
Before we had to go to the airport, we found a park right on the bay to play at.
We had lots of fun in San Diego!
