Tyler's phone

In the middle of December, Tyler went skiing with his friend Kyle. And right after he took this picture, he lost his phone!

Tyler kept his eyes out for it while they were skiing, and they asked the lift operators if anyone had turned in a phone. But they had no luck! Tyler had just barely got a new phone a couple of months ago, so he was super disappointed that he'd have to buy another one!

When Tyler got home, he was able to look on my phone and see that we could still locate his phone using the GPS tracker.  He called Kyle and they made a plan to go back up to the mountain and see if they could find his phone! The girls had a Christmas program that night at the school, so after the program Tyler drove all the back up to Powder Mountain (which is an hour and a half away) with Kyle, and they trekked out on snowshoes to try to find the phone using a tiny phone GPS picture!
When they got to roughly the same spot as the dot on the phone, they called Tyler's phone and it went straight to voicemail! Thinking the phone battery had finally given out, they called Tyler's phone one more time and it rang! Tyler looked all around, and spotted a tiny light off in the distance! He sprinted as fast as one can while wearing snow shoes, and found his phone barely sticking out of the snow! He had to chip it out of the frozen ground, so his phone was a little frosted over, but other than that his phone was just fine!!

We still can't believe that he was able to find it! There were so many things that were pretty miraculous about finding his phone including the fact that no one ran it over during the whole day of skiing, so it was still sticking out of the snow. The fact that it was facing up right, so Tyler was able to see it light up in the night. And also the fact that somehow his battery never died! Tyler's phone once died while shoveling snow because it was so cold, so its crazy that this snow crusted phone never died!
