Kennecott

For the fourth of July, we spent the weekend at Tyler's parent's house in Herriman. Their house is right by Kennecott Copper Mine. We'd never been there before, so that afternoon we headed out to the mine. We just went to the vistor center and took pictures. It was incredibly windy that day! So my hair is going crazy in the pictures!

Here's some pictures and random facts about the mine for you to enjoy!

The trucks they use to carry the ore are HUGE! They said they are about the size of a two story house! So that would be like driving my house! Woah! The trucks can carry about 320 tons!



Check out the HUGE tires! The crazy thing is that each tire costs around $20,000!

And here's a picture of the mine. You can never see how big things are in pictures, but this mine is pretty big! In fact, it is 2-3/4 miles across at the top and 3/4 of a mile deep!
